Brews and Battles

Project type

Marketing Campaign

Brews and Battles was a group project developed in collaboration with Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness (KCAH). I worked alongside my team to respond to a brief that asked us to raise awareness about the hidden forms of homelessness while helping KCAH attract at least 100 new monthly donors. Our campaign aimed to change perceptions and educate the public through both emotional storytelling and practical donation mechanisms. Our solution was to partner with independent cafés across the Kingston borough to act as community touchpoints. Each participating café would display informative posters about the realities of homelessness, encourage donations at checkout through a “round-up” system, and host fundraising events in collaboration with KCAH.

Within the team, I was responsible for the creation of the pitch deck, social media strategy, and the donation-round-up feature prototype. I focused on aligning the campaign with KCAH’s existing brand identity while modernising the visual style through streamlined typography and accessible iconography. The campaign was designed to be informative but not overwhelming, meeting audiences where they already are in their daily routines. I used Adobe Express and Photoshop to build visuals that communicated compassion and urgency without relying on clichés often associated with homelessness campaigns.
